Welcome on the site dedicated to the international network of social street workers. This site will allow you, amongst others, to gain information on all the activities and results obtained within the frame of the network; to participate to the process of exchanges of good practices; to constitute a local workshop of street workers and to become a member of the work.
Dynamo international is at the initiative and coordinates this actual platform of international solidarity for street educators.

1. Why did you go to Armenia and how did it come about?
I went to Armenia because it was a country that I didn’t know at all. Also, it has a very long and rich history. I was able to go thanks to Ara’s help, the young SVE volunteer who was staying with Dynamo. I had to postpone my trip several times but eventually took a flight last January, 21st.
2. What was your project once you were there? What was your welcome like?
My project there was to compare Belgian tolerance with the level of tolerance in Armenia. I was welcomed with open arms by the “ICIRLD”, a non-profit organization which deals with international cultural projects in Armenia.
3. Was it difficult to find a project that suited you?
Yes, because I wasn’t interested in projects in Spain, for example. I wanted to go to a country that was less well-known among Belgians because I’d tried to get involved in a project in France that turned out to be dangerous, and as I grew more mature, Armenia really attracted me.
4. How did Dynamo International help you during the preparation, your stay and your return?
I was very happy with the help from Dynamo International who, thanks to Jonathan, Cécile and Jean (mainly), offered me training before I left and on what to do on my arrival, which is quite rare for a short-term project lasting three months.
5. What are you taking away from this experience? What are the memories that will stay with you?
I’m sorry to disappoint, but I quickly let the project slide, as during my stay I was not in a good way from a psychological point of view. My best memory is of the party organized for my birthday, where people from the organization went to a lot of trouble to hold a great party. HUGE thanks again to Anahit, who prepared everything.
6. What plans do you have for the future? How has this volunteering influenced these plans?
My main plan now is to do some training so I can become a good office employee. This stay has had an excellent influence on me because I had to deal with situations that were sometimes really difficult.
7. What advice would you give to young people wanting to get involved in a similar experience?
Don’t wait too long before going because once you’re there you quickly realize how much you’re capable of and believe me, that’s a good thing!
8. Would you do it again if you could?
Yes, but in a closer country and with a better psychological framework. But yes, I’d jump at the chance!
